COLD SESAME NOODLES ( aka 涼麵 )
As I was studying today and recalling that we have gone to Foreign Exchange LA last night (aka fob central, lol), I began to miss the food in Taiwan especially one of my favorite dish, the cold sesame noodles <3 This is also inspired from A&J’s, one of my favorite Taiwanese restaurant.
Ingredients:
- egg noodles
- cucumbers (sliced)
- carrots (sliced or shredded)
- ham (sliced)
- bean sprouts
- boiled egg
- chopped peanuts
- green onions
Sauces
- 2 teaspoons of minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons of sesame oil
- 3 tablespoons of sesame paste
- 2 tablespoons of smooth peanut butter suace
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar
- 2 teaspoons of chili paste
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
Procedure:
- Cook the egg noodles in boiling water until it is firm. Drain and rinse in cold water. Place it aside and stir in 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. Leave it to cool in the refrigerator.
- Combine the minced garlic, sesame oil, sesame paste, peanut butter sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, chili paste, and sugar in small bowl. Mix the sauces very well into smoothness.
- Serve the cucumbers, carrots, bean sprouts, chopped peanuts, green oinions, ham, and boiled egg on the noodles.
- Pour the sauce over the noodles and toss to serve.
